Rolling bearing calculator: ball bearing selection by life (GOST 8338-75)

Enter the bearing bore, radial and axial loads, speed and required life — the calculator checks light and medium series bearings and picks a suitable one, step by step.

Kb: 1…1.1 steady (conveyors); 1.2…1.3 light shocks, gearboxes; 1.3…1.5 moderate; 1.7…2 heavy shocks. Life: gear reducers ≥ 10 000 h, worm ≥ 5000 h. Inner ring rotates (V = 1).
Calculate

Bearing selection by dynamic capacity

P = (X·V·Fr + Y·Fa)·Kb·Kt; L10h = a23·(C/P)³·10⁶/(60n) ≥ [Lh]. If the light series fails, take the medium series, then roller bearings.

FAQ

How is bearing life calculated?
L10h = a23·(C/P)³·10⁶/(60n) with the equivalent load P.
How are X and Y found?
From Fa/C0 find e and Y; if Fa/(V·Fr) ≤ e, X = 1, Y = 0, otherwise X = 0.56.
What life should be required?
Gear reducers — at least 10 000 h, worm reducers — 5000 h, or as specified.
What if the bearing fails?
Use a heavier series, a roller bearing or a larger shaft.
Where does C come from?
From the bearing catalogue (here — the Russian coursework handbook table).
